The $5000 Burger

the FleurBurger 5000 is a luxury burger served at Fleur de Lys at Las Vegas’ Mandalay Bay. The FluerBurger 5000 is made from Kobe beef and topped with black truffles, foie gras, and served on a brioche truffle bun with a special truffle sauce. The burger is served with a bottle of 1990 Chateau Petrus in imported Ichendorf Brunello stemware, which they let you keep.

Looking at their menu, some of the appetizers include burgundy escargot with garlic and parmesan gnocchi and smoked salmon raviolis with guacamole. A sample of the entrees include filet mignon with braised oxtail tortellini and slow roasted Alaskan king salmon with a parmesan and herb crust, artichokes, lemon, and capers. The FleurBurger will set you back $5k, but hey at least they send you a certificate of authenticity and some Italian Ichendorf Brunello stemware.

Chicago Spire

Currently under construction, The Chicago Spire is a super luxury skyscraper in Chicago that will hold the record of the world’s tallest all residential building. The 2000 foot skyscraper is expected to have 160 floors and offer 1200 luxury condos with a three story 52,000 square foot amenity space that includes private retail facilities, business center, library, and temperature controlled wine lockers to name a few. The condos will range in size from 600 to 10,000 square feet and prices start from $750,000 up to $40 million for a two floor luxury penthouse.

Developed by Shelbourne Development Group Inc., the Chicago Spire is estimated to be completed in late 2010 or early 2011. Donald Trump recently spoke out about the project and was quoted as saying, ‘‘The Chicago market is not good. There are many planned projects that won’t get built, and I predict this is one of them.” One thing is for sure though, The views from the top of the Chicago Spire would undoubtedly be incredible.

If you’re a hardcore gamer and want a huge monitor but don’t need the The Ultimate Monitor Setup, the Alienware curved monitor may be what you’re looking for. Featured at this years Consumer Electronics Show, the Alienware curved display will no doubt be a huge hit with gamers. The size of the display is the equivalent of two 24″ monitors and uses DLP rear projection technology for an incredible gaming experience. The native resolution is 2880×900 and boasts a response time of less than .02 milliseconds. The price of this Alienware prototype has not yet been announced and will be available to the public in late 2008.

In 2004 Donald Trump purchased Maison de L’Amitie at a bankruptcy auction for $41 million and after $25 million in renovations has it on the market for $125 million. This custom designed 62,000 square foot oceanfront mansion is built on 6.5 acres and has 17 bedrooms, 15 bathrooms, and 8 half baths. Highlights of this Palm Beach super luxury home include incredible ocean views, 100 foot long pool, hot tub, 2 fireplaces, fitness room, home theater, library, wine cellar/grotto, and staff quarters. Maison de L’Amitie also features 3 additional structures that include a 2 bedroom poolside retreat, 2 bedroom guest house and a 4 bedroom coach house, whatever that is. It’s an incredibly nice house but what in the world would you do with 17 bedrooms and 15 bathrooms.

World’s Thinnest Notebook

Boasting the title “the thinnest laptop ever produced” The Macbook Air was recently introduced at Macworld 2008 much to the delight of diehard Apple fans. Almost as thin as your finger the Macbbok Air weighs about 3 lbs and features a 13.3 inch widescreen display, built in iSight camera, full size keyboard, and a multi-touch gesture trackpad that allows you to quickly pan around photos and flick through different windows. Priced at $1799 you can pre-order now but the Macbook Air won’t ship for another two weeks.
