Billion Dollar House

December 12, 2008

Billion Dollar HouseAs the chairman and director of Reliance Industries, Mukesh Ambani is the fifth richest man in the world, with an estimated net worth valued at $43 Billion USD. Ambani spared no expense in designing his new 27 story, 400,000 square foot mansion with the height equivalent of a regular 60-story residential building. He designed each floor with different materials and a different design following an Indian tradition called Vaastu, which is similar to the principles of Feng Shui. Apparently the first six floors will be for storage and parking of the families cars and vehicles. The seventh floor is designed soley for in-house car maintenance. The entertainment floor is on the eight floor and features a 50 seat movie theater and wine room with a garden on the roof of the theater. The Mansion has a total of 9 elevators, heli pad, indoor/outdoor bars, entertainment stages, green rooms, and a staff of 600 to keep everything running smoothly. I think it’s fair to say Mukesh Ambani = India’s Donald Trump.

Well all I can say is, my 11yr old son could have designed a better house with his Lego set!

“Good taste is better than bad taste, but bad taste is better than no taste” Oscar Wilde

Its the most drab, uninspiring waste of money, ever.

“A fool and his money are soon parted”

The house is quite different, although beautiful on the inside. I would like to have just 1/4 of the money you put in this.

It’s the best house in the world. I would love to have a house with 400,000 square feet of living space, a 50 seated movie theater, 600 staff members, 9 elevators, a helipad, and inside and outside bars. Like I said, the best house in the world!

  9. youvement on April 2nd, 2009 2:12 pm

Wow, and there are starving people all over the world, including the States. Nice to see vanity and greed is still king. The poor indian population should just take that thing.

GIVE ME THAT HOUSE …OR IMA BLOW THAT SHIT UP

  12. Oscar on July 21st, 2009 6:04 pm

At first glance, the mansion seemed as a stack of multi-sized boxes organized in no order whatsoever. But the real beauty is what’s inside. The gardens at the edge of nearly all walls gives it a Babylon feeling in India. I would of loved to see Indian architecture style.

Given the inexpressible poverty of so many in India, I can only blame religion for staving off the revolution that has been so long overdue.
The caste system lives–and here is an extremely ugly (in every sense of the word) example.

    FROM WIKIPEDIA:
“The World Bank estimates that 456 million Indians now live under the global poverty line of $1.25 per day (PPP). This means that a third of the global poor now reside in India.”

I say, Mukesh Ambani is a traitor to his people, and the incarnation of selfishness.

no art just regular stuff. looks like a toy. nothing special. not even close to worth a billion!

Must have employed a lot of people in creating this masterpiece.
    Wealth helps poverty through employment.
Every dollar spent goes toward goods and services and workers generating these good and services and eventually to their families.

  17. Claire de Weerdt on August 13th, 2009 2:03 pm

people want work not money handed to them.
    Wealth supports work.
    Charity should go toward Education.
If such a billionaire wants to help his people perhaps he should have donated money to the local University or Research Initiatives.

Guys, ignore this article. The pics above are just an artists impression of how the building will look. Its not yet been built.

It is true though they expect the cost to be around a Billion.

  19. pang on September 11th, 2009 5:12 am

I buy a house with 500000 sq ft of living space, 1000 staff members, a private plane landing area, helipad,a private steam train and track and private beach and more!

  20. JJ on September 12th, 2009 4:25 am

This house is quite ugly. I would have just built a billion dollar mansion around the beach or something. Its not aesthetically pleasing.

  21. Dewana on September 12th, 2009 2:41 pm

This is the most unusal house I’ve ever seen. I want to know who did he pay to design that crappy looking house. It looks good on the inside but you want the outside of your house to complement the inside right? If I had a bilion dollars to spend on a house I would use it to build a castle like the one at Walt Disney World.

  22. shilpa on September 25th, 2009 5:49 am

I had lunch with Mukesh just last week, and he showed me these plans. All I could say was… “WOW MUKE! What a dump!!!! I guess people in India really don’t have it so good.” And between just us, he thought Feng Shui was raw fish. Holy sacred cow, what a crazy guy old Muke is.

  26. Joe on October 27th, 2009 4:19 pm

First and foemost, you all smell. This house is just like Jenga, and with one good wind, will topple to the ground. I’m glad you are all mature enough to own each other with misspelled words and namecalling. Sadly, I’ve graduated grade school and will not take part in this child’s play. So inconclusion, my comment will increase all of your IQ levels and you willl never know what it is that ever started this whole mess!!

  27. james on November 17th, 2009 8:44 am

I love it. The inside is beautiful, and the outside may not be my taste but at least it stands out as new and different.

Got something to say?
