New Theme

Due to the fact that this blog’s theme has spread across the interwebs like wildfire, Highstakesliving.com will be under going another theme change. This time we’ll be going for a more magazine style site to showcase the high stakes lifestyle. I’m anticipating the new theme launch by mid to late February and early March at the very latest. Stay tuned

Free Ad Contest

Last week I mentioned that I was going to run a contest this week for some free advertising. I will be giving the top commentator at the end of this month a free 125×125 ad spot on the sidebar under sponsors for the month of February. Depending on the interest I may run this contest every month, so comment away if you would like a free button ad on the sidebar. So far the top commentator is Mariam from moneyrelations.com

New Design Launch

Finally the new design is now live after a few days of tweaking the design, configuring seo and installing the necessary plugins to get the site looking the way I want it to. I feel the new design has a much cleaner and crisper look to it and the logo is alright for now but there is a much better logo/header design in the works so this will have to do for the time being. There is still a lot of stuff I need to do to the site but it feels good to finally have it up and running. I’ll also be running a contest for free ad space on this blog starting next week so stay tuned. If there’s any bugs or errors in the new theme please let me know.

A New Look

Sorry for the lack of posts lately, I have been having some problems with this site due to the integration of two different content management systems, Wordpress and Joomla. The Wordpress component I installed in Joomla is still in beta, doesn’t have friendly urls for seo and has been causing me a lot of problems with the site. I still think it’s a great component for a blog within a Joomla site but for a full-fledged blog I’ll have to wait until it’s completed. So for obvious reasons I will be switching platforms within the next few days from my hybrid Joomla/Wordpress CMS to a full-fledged Wordpress site complete with a spiffy new custom theme with a smoother look and feel . If you have any suggestions or comments feel free to let me know. -Chris
