Jay Leno’s EcoJet Concept Car

December 12, 2008

Jay Leno's EcoJet Concept CarGeneral Motor’s EcoJet concept car is the brainchild of Jay Leno and his mechanic, Bernard Juchli, with the help of GM’s Advanced Projects studio. Leno wanted to show young car enthusiasts that eco friendly cars don’t have to look like a Prius. Based on a modified aluminum Corvette Z06 chassis,The EcoJet supercar’s entire body is made from carbon fiber and Kevlar with environmentally friendly paint from BASF. Powered by a Honeywell LT-101 turbine engine that runs on biodiesel fuel, The EcoJet produces 650 horsepower with a top speed of 200mph and weighs 2,400 lbs. The car will be far from fuel-efficient, but the renewable biodiesel will cut down on pollution.
